Say "Cheese"....Get it, that's funny because it's a cheese haus! |
We got an early start (7:20 am) to our day. The boys & I were packing the car and "Mom" was checking out. It's time to say so-long to Chicago and head off on our 458 mile trip to Minneapolis. We will travel now through Wisconsin to get to Minneapolis. All "Mom" wants to do in Wisconsin (besides see Fonzie...that's a later blog entry) is to go to a cheese haus - she loves cheese! She has a friend Diane that used to live in WI so she texted her along the way as to which was the best one to go to. She suggested Foster Cheese in Osseo, WI. It was easy on & off and it was a nice one.....we took her advice and visited
http://www.fostercheesehaus.com/ . "Mom" bought some cheese curds, various breads, a bottle of wine to take home, and the boys picked out goodies for Nana & Papa. DELICIOUS!!
One of the coolest things we saw along the road was two of Bret Michael's tour buses. The passed us on the other side of the road near the Wisconsin Dells area.
After another 458 miles and 6 driving hours, we arrived at our next hotel - Holiday Inn Bloomington Airport, 1201 West 94th Street, Bloomington, MN - (952) 884-8211
http://www.holidayinn.com/. Ialways think hotels are great - you never hear me complain about a bed! - but "Mom" & "Dad" thought this one was great for many reasons. First - they are members of thePriority Club - the frequent stayer - and had enough points so the room for both nights was free! You can't beat that! Second, the hotel was conviently located right off the highway & they said it was easy to get everywhere - including Mall of America which is only 6 miles away. Thirdly, the staff in the hotel & the restauraunt (Green Mill) were FANTASTIC! They went out of their way to give directions & help at the desk and then remembered and asked about it the next day (
